The questions were: What is the role of
the United Nations, the United States, and the world in post Saddam Iraq? How
will American foreign policy change? What are the implications with France,
Germany, Russia, Turkey, and the others? . "The United Nations: America's Interest vs World's Interest" Linda Fasulo shared first hand, up front reports of current issues being dealt with at the UN. Linda gave her view of America and its role as a member of the UN. Does America "really" consider the rest of the World's interests? |

| Annual Canoe Trip | |
| August 17th, 2002. Origination: The Little Miami Canoe Livery, Oregonia, OH .30 fearless individuals joined each other for an 8 mile trip down the Little Miami River. The canoeists filled up on hamburgers or portabella burger sandwiches and salades beforehand. Howard Watrous, former Sierra Club trainer, increased everyone's skills with a lesson prior to departure. "Inter-Continental" Career Breakfast On February 21, we had an intimate breakfast with Mr. Pepper. He shared the career experiences that have led to his success as a global business leader. John E. Pepper, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board, The Procter & Gamble Company. Mr. Pepper related examples of the international opportunities that shaped his career and his family's life since he joined P & G in 1963. The Career Breakfast placed him among like-minded internationlists who appreciated his anecodotes from Italy, China, and Russia. |

| Special Guest: David
Zimov, Political and Military Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy to
Panama. Since joining the Foreign Service in 1997, David Zimov has served
with the State Department in Washington, D.C.; in Bogota, Colombia, where he
managed the cases of kidnapped American citizens; and Panama City, Panama,
where he is currently Second Secretary and Political-Military Affairs
Officer. Dr. Zimov has a Ph.D. in International History and Developmental Economics from the London School of Economics. Originally from Cincinnati, he has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati and at Northern Kentucky University. |

of American Diplomacy The YPs were joined for a breakfast discussion of the state of American diplomacy and the Foreign Service by Phyllis E. Oakley, Former Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration. Ms. Oakley led a stimulating discussion of the current condition of the State Department and the use of diplomacy on the front lines of American foreign policy. |
